WHO'S WHO IN THE PPG
Who is the person who always brings something for Show & Tell? I know she is Stephine. The first question I have for her is where do you find the time to do all those quilts? This very happy and organized lady is orginally from Colorado. Her husband of 18 years (on the 4th of July) and their children PCS'd from Beale CA about 5 years ago. This is their 2nd tour on Okinawa. Stephine's favorite quilts are the log cabin and her favorite color is blue. Stephine is a substitute teacher within the DOD's systems as she works on her bachelor's degree in child psychology.
Stephine you are
great!!!! Keep up the good work!
WOW!! 25 years is a long time to be quilting, but Karen King has done it. This amazing lady is almost set to PCS to McDill, Florida in mid June. She had been on island for the past three years with her husband and three kids. Karen wants us all to remember 'never to let the hand quilting die, it is a tradition.' Good luck in your travels.
"American; Where!" Is a familiar phrase that comes from a very happy Judy Theriot. Just by chatting for a minute you can tell she is from the south; Louisiana to be exact. Judy had been on island for 10 months and quilting for 3 years. She lives on Foster with her two cats and her husband of 7 11/2 years. Judy works as a secretary but has plans to learn cultural dance in the hopes to teach it. You can get her taste buds hopping with crawfish, her favorite.
Christine Tabbert, who is from Ohio, is a rather shy woman who has been on island for ten months. Christine has been quilting for 10 years. She works on keeping her sanity while taking care of her two boys and her husband of 12 years.
There are no words lost when you talk with Laurie Blackburn. A quilter for only 6 months, she has six UFO's and 1 finished quilt to her name She came here from McChord AFB with her husband and their two adopted "girls"; cats Hopi and Zuni in October 1996. Laurie has seven grown children and three grandsons. Even though Laurie is very busy with her prefessional career as Senior Court Reporter for 12 years, she still enjoys quilting, counted crossstitch, Square Dancing and Hardanger. Laurie's favorite blocks are the Bear Paws and Attic Windows. Her favorite colors include burgundy, teal, pink and peach.
Some may not know Dianne Hammerman because she is new to quilting. She is very quiet and soft spoken. Dianne has been quilting for five months during which she has produced 2 finished quilts. She has been on island for four years and we are sad to hear she will be PCSing this November to Andrews AFB, Maryland. Dianne has two children, Dylan and Kelsey, who keep her busy. She still finds time to enjoy crossstitching and ceramics. Dianne's favorite colors include country reds, blues and golds. "Hey Dianne, make sure you keep in conntact with us and let us know how you are doing. Don't forget to tell us how the fabric stores are."
