Most family trees begin with two parents. Our family tree begins with three siblings. The parentage of these siblings is unknown because we have traced our family into the period in American history where people of African descent were slaves and were stripped of their language, culture, and families. Our knowledge of the Wills family history begins in the Sunflower county Mississippi. We know of two brothers, Verdal and Will and existence of their sister Daught. Verdal was born November 1841 (according to 1900 census records) in Mississippi. Oral history tells us Verdal and Missouri had six children as listed above. *** WILLS FAMILY HISTORY *** Will was born December 1856 (according to 1900 census records) also in Mississippi. Although he was married to Amanda for many years, most of his descendants remember his second wife, Ella Wood. Oral history confirmed by the census records, tell us Will and Amanda had 11 children as listed above. As descendents of the above people, we have a reunion every two years to celebrate our family. We had our last reunion in the summer of 1997 in Chicago. We have connected with family all over the country. | |||||||||||||||||
