A Ship of Fools

It seems to me that The White House and the present administration has turned itself into a sinking ship...and a ship of fools, at that. They are on the brink of "dumbing themselves down at a breakneck pace. After watching the first day of Clinton's defense before the HJC, it was almost comical to watch the "Scholarly Historians" and the former "Congressional Whiz Bangs" from yesteryear try to explain away why The Commander-in-Cheat should not be impeached. They could not argue law, because they "know not the law". They could not argue facts, because they had none. So, they just did the old "pound the table" bit to make it seem as if they really had a point.
It must be nice for those "scholarly historians" to hold such high opinions of themselves, because no one else seems to! One thing I can say in regards to the folks that Clinton's lawyer had there on his behalf: They seemed to be as confused as the President himself concerning the Constitution and the Law! Not once, did any facts regarding this hearing come forth, at least from the side of the defense. And for once, I thought that the Republican side made a pretty strong showing, and seemed to have reached their level of tolerance in dealing with BS. It would have been nice to see Chairman Hyde, after the first question was put forth, and the legalistic jargon spewed to the HJC, for Mr. Hyde to slap that gavel and say, "Ok boys and girls. Nothing relevant here. Been there - done that. Let's vote."
On this ship of fools that is sinking quickly, we saw today that the White House "leaked" the 184 page report of their defense. Does that not make one wonder about all the leaks that were attributed to the OIC? From where I'm sitting, it looks to me as if this ship of fools has more leaks than a beer can full of buckshot! As a matter of fact, it seems that the White House is doing everything possible to ensure that Clinton will be impeached. Law, justice, and equality is the only lifeline that will save America from this ship of fools. I realize it's sad to say, but this is one time that the ship must go down. America will be stronger for it. And what is so ironic, it's also a case of "the captain must go down with his ship", but it will be interesting to see in what order this happens. Who will sink first? The captain or the mates? We should know soon!
