Props for the Truth

If it weren't so pitiful, it would be amusing that the Clinton lawyers are all in a dither about what kind of suit the Prez will wear, what pictures will hang behind him and around him in the Oval Office, and what type of decor will surround Clinton as he testifies before the OIC.

This should be a major production, since Hillary and Bill have their Hollywood pal, Mr. Thomason, to set the stage for Clinton's performance. It's such a contrast to former leaders in the Whitehouse. In times past, the Presidents would confer with the "old hands" that have been in power for ages. The elder Congressmen and Senators were always beckoned to the Oval Office for support and advice. My how times have changed. When Clinton hits a rough spot in the road, why he just picks up the phone and calls Hollywood, and the stars arrive in a moments notice. Does this little trick lend credibility or what?

I guess it could mean that there are two kinds of truth. The real truth, and the Hollywood "only in the movies" type truth! In my humble opinion, the truth needeth no props. The truth is strong enough to stand alone. Truth does not need anything lended from Hollywood. The truth does not need a particular setting, a certain type and color suit, and spiffy pictures hanging about. The truth is something that has been very scarce in D.C. during the past six years.

As I close, let's look at Webster's definition of "truth": "conformity to fact or reality; integrity; constancy; reality; verified fact"
