Time Slips Away

Oh so tired yet no time for rest,
For my mind is to busy with all this mess.
Some day I will finish but not today,
Maybe tomorrow I'll take a rest.

Sleep is far, so far away,
Night holds no peace, only wakening fits.

For what comes with the morrow,
I fear rest plays no part.

Hurry, hurry, run here and there,
Did I forget something, so tired my dear.
Slow down they say, now that's a laugh,
No time to enjoy, no time for a nap.

Off to work, to market, to home,
feed the family, laundry's not done.
Clean the house lord what a sight,
9 pm what happened to time.

Body is moving, the mind is on edge,
Heart is pumping yet the legs feel dead.
I'm slowing down I can't imagine why,
Movements impossible, only in my mind.

Take a deep breath, then let it out,
Nothing is working, lungs are shut down.
Eyes are blurred and speach is gone,
Just take a look at what I've done.

Let this be a lesson to one and all,
Slow down, take your time, learn to live right now.
For if you keep up your pace, in this crazy race,
You'll never finish standing on your feet,
You'll never finish what you started at all.
