Poetry is a great way to express feelings. Poems show feelings of love, hate, despair. I hope you will find one here you like, if there isn't one now, then check back another time, I hope to get some more to add. If you have a poem you would like to see here, let me know. Because this is a valentines page, and a page of love, I would like that to be the type of poems I have. Hope you see something you like. My father passed away when I was a baby, and the first poem is a poem that I wrote for him. It may not be totally suitable for a page like this, but I wrote it because I love him for being my dad. I believe that forgiveness and acceptance is a big part of love also.

If the person who submits a poem is willing, I will put their name on it, however if you prefer I will put it author unknown.

Dad

Your arms around me I've never felt
At least not that I remember
I was born in late July
You died a year later in September

I wish you could have waited
Until I could remember your voice
But death came to you by surprise
It really wasn't your choice

I had to grow up without you dad
My children you'd never see
But through my life and through my heart
You'll always live in me

The others say you're not my dad
Because I never knew you
But even though you were not there
I still am part of you

I forgive you dad for leaving me
You didn't ask to go
I really wish I'd known you dad
I just wanted you to know.
P.S. Dad... I love you.

I long to feel your gentle touch
Your hand upon my face
When you walk towards me
My heart begins to race

You reach for me, I reach for you
Your touch I finally feel
And in my mind I wonder
If what I feel is real

We move so close together
Our bodies become one
And as we touch our skin is warmed
Beneath the noon day sun

I wonder deep down in my heart
If this is what it seems
Then disappointed I awake
It all has been a dream

Do You

Do you take this woman
To be your wife
To love and to cherish
The rest of your life.
To hold her close
And show that you care
To let her know
You'll always be there

Do you take this man
Your husband to be
To love and to cherish
For all to see
To wear his ring
And be his bride
To always be there
By his side

These vows are repeated
As two become one
Your marriage complete
Your life has begun
To be together
As husband and wife
And remain with each other
The rest of your life.
