Halloween
Safety Tips
Costumes
should be bright, or made of reflective material
Avoid
children's costumes with long capes or droopy pants: these can cause the
child to fall
Inspect all the childrens candy before letting them eat it
Avoid masks if possible; they obstruct a child's view at night
Set perimeters within your neighbourhood
Carry a flashlight
Never go into a strangers house
Walk only in well lit areas
Travel in groups. Take a few friends or relatives along for the evening
A halloween party in someone's home is safer than going house to house
Place a flashlight instead of a candle in your jack-o-lantern
Turn your porch light on to give kids extra visibility
If you put make up on your childs face, take care around the eyes.
WALK, don't run from house to house.
Have a safe and happy halloween.
