Lived in Stormville, two miles east of Hopewell, Dutchess County, NY and was Deacon of the Hopewell Reformed Dutch Church in 1767. During the Reolution he was taken prisoner by a band of loyalists and hanged in the attic of his home, but was cut down by a servant and lived to tell the tale.6
