The Long Island Schutzhund Club was started in 1985 by Barry Drangel .

Barry was President and Training Director until the fall of 1992 in that time he laid a strong foundation based in good working ethics.In that time members came and went .Many because Barry was not very sensitive to other peoples needs,it was his way or the high way.

This may have been hard on the membership but he did represent USA at the SchH1 level at the AWDF  with his GSD  Zero and Qualified for the Nationals with his Rottie the next Year .

After Barry left,the club elected Gordon Beyer as President , Pat Campbell as Training Director.Under Gordon's leadership we sent four club dogs to the 1994 Seiger Show.
