Go back to the Bible and the Book of Mormon. A new study, totally from the Bible to support the divinity of the Book of Mormon
At the end of the Book of Mormon, there is a very challenging promise:
Moroni 10:3-5
"Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been until the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things and ponder it in your hearts.
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, The Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with sincere heart, real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the Power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things."
The main question, in my opinion, should be:" Is this promise contained in the Bible?
Second question:" Is the prayer the safest way to know the truth?
Third question:" Is the Holy Ghost ordained to do this?
We will try to answer to these intriguing questions, like always, using the Bible.
Before to open the debate I'd like to remark something: if Joseph put this promise by himself he was challenging God in a terrible way, so or He didn't believe on Him, or at least he didn't fear him, or he was so confident to do the will of God. Anyway now it is time to leave the Bible speaks.
There are some Christians who don't believe that God answer's prayer
this way and that such a promise is not Biblical. They claim that the
only sure way to know the truth about God is to study the words of the
Bible. Is this correct or is the Book of Mormon correct? Let's see what
the Bible has to say.
The first question we need to ask is: Is this promise contained in the
Bible?
The second question we need to ask is: Is prayer the safest way to know
the truth?
Third question we need to ask is: Is the Holy Ghost ordained to answer
prayer in this manner?
We will try to answer these intriguing questions, like always, using the
Bible.
Is the same promise and prayer found in the Bible?
Do our answers come from the Holy Ghost or
from the Bible?
