We had a light weekend planned with the only thing needing to get done was to get an acid bath for the pool filter. Despite it being the only thing needing to get done, I busied myself by pruning branched and twigs from this and that, and 5 hours later, I had replenished the stick pile that I'll have to wait 10 months to burn. Because we hope to take pictures at the Manor before the wedding, we are working on getting the place in shape; not only for the wedding, to be accurate, but also for ourselves and guests this summer. Emily and Andrew went to Wal*Mart with the teen group for a car wash fundraiser. I thought surely that it would be cancelled because of forecast downpours later in the day, but the show went on and people responded well to supporting the teens. The rain showed up on cue when the car wash was over. The superstitious might think all that car washing caused the rain! Most of the big activities and responsibilities are accounted for the wedding in just under three weeks. It's the attention to detail that can be a challenge, at least to me. I am eager to get this party started. Jessica got her hair done again by Miranda, attempting to shave off some preparation time on the day of the wedding. David spent the last few weeks at his home in Virginia; his last as a bachelor. He flew back into town on Saturday night. Jess and Dave loaded up Goliath with a bunch of their home items to take back to Quincy. They will occupy apartment 309 in the married student housing, when they are married. David is moving in now. (We gave them the advice my mother gave us when we set up our apartment in the same building 24 years ago: leave the door open while you are both in there!!) I'll be making a trip to Quincy myself with some furniture in the next day or so. I'll get by with a little help from my friends. Mark P.S. Andrew saw the doctor last week and needs to return for biopsy surgery. No immediate worries but a precautionary step for a lump that has taken to long to disappear.
