===================================================================== Mon Apr 8 08:09 EDT 1996 Weekend Update - Easter Weekend 1996 Backwards forwards: It's snowing this morning, and more is predicted for tomorrow. Some years ago we had a blizzard on April 7th, a notable day because it is my first daughter's birthday. Yesterday, Miranda turned sweet sixteen and did so without a romantic kiss. This dad is grateful knowing that her affections will all-too-soon turn to another. She signed in church last night and does a beautiful job. (Yes, that's signed - for the deaf, not signed which should be sang.) I told some friends yesterday that we no longer have babies in our home; we have babes. We were invited for a turkey dinner at some friends house. I know that at least Steve and John ate dinner with mom and dad yesterday. Russell had his in-laws over, I believe. (Incidentally, Jennifer called to wish Mandy a happy 16th, and little Russell quizzed her exctedly about how many presents she got and how much she enjoyed it. He passed the phone around until all of Russ' family wished her Happy Birthday.) Yesterday was our final Sunday in the school because we have decided to take a new format in the church plant in Windham, NH. Until that format is completely fleshed out, our first few Sundays will reconvene back at the spacious liviging room of our Pastor. Saturday was spent on doors. Last December, we bought a new couch and had the worst time in the snow and below freezing temperatures getting that beast into the basement. In the process, I removed the doors, then the jambs, and then some of the supporting 2x4s to get an opening wide enough to get the couch in. In anticipation of a move, I've rebuilt the doors with the help of a friend so that they are least 3-4" wider. We hope to finish the job tonight; the outside door was hung, but the inside door need to be finished. Joy and I are investigating what it takes to build a house. We're a little worried about the timing of everything, let alone the effort, but we're forging ahead with looking at plans and getting them into enough shape to get estimates that we can use to determine how feasible it all is. Work has been frenetic at times but it may have just been the comet and lunar eclipse, eh wot?
