Summer Preview

Tonight, depending on whether Dan Yackel (who is in town from Atlanta)
comes to dinner or needs to go elsewhere, Joy and I and another couple
may go on up to Concord to attend the weekly auction.  It's more
entertainment for us.  if we buy anything, we'll be sure to store
it at the Bickom's place.  In fact, Joy and I discusses packing up
a bunch of stuff in boxes and shipping it off to the Bickom's place
where they have plenty of storage space, having the effect of making our
house look more spacious for showings.  We're sorry that mom couldn't
make her way up north for some R&R but it is probably better for her to
get her R&R at the cape house.  We'll all meet at John's for the Fourth.

Friday night is softball night.  Saturday is oil change day and my cars
are both overdue.  Yikes!  We'll try and get some boxes out of the house,
too.  Hopefully, I get some yard saling in, too.  The kids have some places
to go so taxiing will also be on the schedule.

Sunday is MPC (Metcalfe Party Central) and we hope to get a few families
to come and enjoy our place and fellowship.

We were going to get away midweek next week but that's not going to
happen because Mandy has a final in her Deaf class.  Instead, there are
some young couples on our target list so we'll try and get them up
for dinner, establish some relationships and encourage them in the Lord.

Last Sunday, our choir director gave me a tape to listen to and asked
if I'd consider singing it with the choir.  I said sure and didn't pop
it in the tape player until my commute on Monday.  I was overwhelmed.
Anyone ever hear of a song called "Praise You" by Elizabeth Goodine (1992)?
I have listened to it very often Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and sang
it with the choir Wednesday night.  Wow.  It is just one of those songs
that comes from inside.

Come July, our four kids will be spending one of each of the four weeks in
July at Camp.  That leaves us two and a half weeks in August before
everything gets really busy again.  Hmmm...

Ah well, reasonable service, you know.  :-)
