Weekend Update: Columbus discovers Native America

Today, I was not picked to adjudicate a civil suit involving an
automobile accident in 1991.  Thank You very much!

I'm going to make this brief (and you can say Thank You, too.)
because of my other demands.

The weekend was spectacular in terms of weather, foliage,
and fellowship.  Among the interesting events that occurred,
Emily got lost alone in the woods playing a game with the
other children.  She ended up coming out of the woods about
a mile from the cabin and had to guess which way to go on the
road.  This was while the adults were out picking up some extra
food for dinner.  I'm glad it was Emily, though, because she
is probably the best one to get lost and find her own way out.
We got by with only a few bumps and scrapes, and a couple of burned
fingers when I grabbed the wrong end of a smouldering stick.  Duh!
Emily, Andrew, and I had a canoe adventure on Monday, getting back
to shore against a gusty wind.  But all in all, a nice time was
had by all of us Metcalfes, Magnusons, and Bickoms.
