Weekend Update: January 11-13

The Patriots won the AFC title, but like many of you on this
distribution list, I didn't watch the game.  Apart from the fact
that I was in church last night, I am content to attend to other
things.  Go Pats.

My cousin Kerri spent a couple of short days with us.  Aside from the
auction  that Dad and I both mentioned, we watched some home video
of our kids when they were really young.  I won't mention a slice of
tape we came across from 11 years ago.  Kerri got to see a pretty
good sample of what goes on at my house on a fairly regular basis.

On Saturday, we wended our way to Framingham to take Kerri to John's
house for a visit.  We stopped over in Pepperell to see the new house
and then ambled through the New England countryside.  John took us to
an old fashioned (and large) candy store.

House update: Last week, we got nearly a dozen calls on our current house,
three of which are hopefuls.  All of these families are very nice.  We
hope one of them turns out to be the one we need and we're the one they
need to make all this happen.

Joy update: Joy is coming to the end of her medication.  She has been in
a nasal spray for 6 months, blocking hormone production from her brain so
that her body can heal from the pains she'd been having, thought to have
been caused by scar tissue on or around the ovaries.  When she goes off
the medication, her hormone production should return to normal levels
and we wait and see what happens.  She has told me that she's had a few
pains in her side from time to time, so I'm a little concerned about
what's around the corner.  I thought 6 months would never come but it is
almost over, but over to what, I wonder?  I'm hoping for good old fashioned
normalcy.

Mark update: I love the Lord, I love my wife, I love my kids, I love my job.
