Mon Feb 10 07:49 EST 1997 Weekend Update: February 7-9 No news was welcome news on the house front. Packing will begin in earnest and we have about 18 days left of enjoying the hot tub before refilling it and turning it over with the keys to the Nashua house. It is too bad that the other broker stole my excitement. We have a lot of planning to do but we think we can do this in an orderly fashion and still meet some social engagement (welcome respites, I might add). On Saturday, it was me and the boys at Rich and Wendy Gonzalez' home. Rich and Wendy bought a nice old home in need of some loving restoration. Loving is what Wendy gives the house. Being the husband to a redecorating wife, I think I know how Rich feels about the house about now. We hung sheet rock in their kitchen, new bath, and mud room. My job was to secure the sheet rock using a screw gun and 1-1/4" screws. We started with a box of 1000 and had a handful left when we were done. Wendy's brother-in-law, Ken was pretty good at cutting the sheet rock. It isn't easy to measure and cut holes and put it up and have the holes go where you expect them to go! Her dad was also a big help. Wendy cooked us burgers for lunch, and they were yummy because we rescued them before they were consumed by the fire. I'll be headed back there this week to do some mudding and taping. Bill Primeau taught me how to stop "frosting the cake" and do a job where very little sanding is required. Strange but true! I used to slop it on and sand it off. No more! On Sunday, our Sunday School class gathered together to ask the Lord's blessing and feast on lasagna made by Heidi Walsh. I told her it was so good that I went and purged so I could eat more. Well, that wasn't the compliment she was looking for so I told it was delicious in many much more flattering ways. For those of you who want to help us move, we'll know soon when the actual closing time and date are. We anticipate moving Thursday evening, the 27th of this month. I'd rather have too much help than not enough so come along after work and bring an empty car or truck. Pickups will be good for pinball machine runs - just make sure they get to the Pepperell house! Pray for good weather. For any of you not on the day shift, we may have some work left over Friday morning. I don't expect anyone to take the day off (like I am). With many hands, I expect it all to be moved in one evening, to tell you the truth. Thank you for your prayers and love.
