Mon Feb 24 07:56 EST 1997 Weekend Update: February 21-23 Moving day is fast approaching but I think I've got everything timed and planned, but like most weddings, I am prepared for some things to go not as planned. On Friday, Miranda and Jessica participated in (began) the 30-Hour Famine, which is a program that raised money for starving children through the World Vision non-profit chartable organization. I am told that the entire teen group raised over $2000 for these children. Joy helped to chaparone through the night leaving me and the younguns home. Me and the younguns (Emily and Andrew) went to Rich and Wendy Gonzalez' home on Saturday morning to try and complete the spackling of their kitchen. Since I'm no pro, I didn't get it all done. :-( Part of the problem was a 2-hour lunch where I bought a stove and refrigerator for the new house (which didn't have them). They're the scratch and dent kind. The refrigerator has some dents that would make some people uncomfortable with buying, but as long as it runs, it is getting shoved into an alcove where no one will see the dents (the front and inside are in great shape. The other thing that happened shortened the work day at the kitchen was the weather. It was nice and warm much of the day, but in the winter that is a prescription for unsettled weather. And as evening approached, the wind gusts picked up severely enough to drop tree limbs and shut off the power to the home. We spackled and sanded until it got too dim to work. The kids are finished with Nashua School and meet their new schools and teachers today. Then it's back to packing, packing, packing. (I think we're to a place where I need to organize the packed material so that the move will progress more smoothly on Thursday. I need to schedule a time for the pizza place to have dinner ready for my movers, too. I am hopeful for clear, dry weather. Temperature is secondary as long as snow or rain stays away from moving day. I'll be very excited when I get the keys in my hand. ;-/ Mark @ Mark Metcalfe, Sr. Writer (__) (__) _____/ Cadence Design Systems, Inc. /| (oo) _ (oo)/----/_____ 270 Billerica Road MS04 _o\______/_|\_\/_/_|__\/|____|//////== *- * * - Chelmsford, MA 02184 /_________ \ 00 | 00 | /== -* * - (508) 446-6451 \_0__, [_____/^^\_____\_____|_____/^^\_____] *- * - metcalfe@cadence.com M \__/ \__/ .|\.
