Mon Mar 10 09:03 EST 1997 Weekend Update: March 7-9 The house may not be settled yet, but it is in full swing. On Friday, the quizzing team met at our house while we went out to dinner while Bill Primeau built a small wall for the master bath. Mandy and Jessie are our baby-sitters and they are both on the quizzing team. Meeting at our place was a compromise that worked. Joy and I went to the Outback Steakhouse with John and Julie White. My 12 ounce prime rib :^9 had 3 ounces of fat |x^p but the other 9 ounces were very good. It was the only steak item without their spices (which I've had before) which are overly peppery. Oh, yeah. On Friday we found out that Pepperell doesn't have trash pick up. >:^/ We either hire a contractor or sift and sort our trash and take it to a transfer station for $1 a bag. We now know why the Pepperell house has a trash compactor. Just another adjustment. On Saturday, Joy the-crazy-lady Metcalfe held two rehearsals at the church. The first two hours was with children and the second two hours (with a lunch break in between) was with the teens. I stayed home alone because I was going to burn some brush. It was snowing lightly so the fire captain said it was an okay day to burn. I lit the fire and it burned all the dry twigs. I didn't have any kerosene (and couldn't use gasoline) for the other wet branches. :-( I found some of my wife's good lamp oil. :-) It made the fire flare :-) but it wasn't enough. :-( And I used half the bottle of the good stuff! 8^o So I still have stuff to burn. :-) Tom Crittendon arrived in the afternoon and we did a few chores but mainly bummed around together. On Sunday, we had company for dinner (BYOM - bring your own meal) and spent a lovely afternoon near the walkout bay windows where the sunlight streamed in all afternoon. Sunday night, I bled the radiators. How victorian of me! Today, (for those of you outside the northeast), school was cancelled in many places because of snow. In Pepperell, I slogged out to my driveway in about four inches at 7:30 with some more to come. There are very few people at work today (so far). March is often a mixed bag of weather but I'm ready for Spring. Happy [ski] trails! ._o / //\. \>> | \\ Mark ___ ___ / \ Mark Metcalfe, Sr. Technical Writer / \ (_____) Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
