Weekend Update: April 4-6 (aka Happy Birthday, everyone!)

Today is my daughter Miranda's 17th birthday.
(It also happens to be L. Mark Hall's 30th birthday - his dad's email account).

We threw a surprise birthday party for Mandy on Friday sending her and
a few teens on a wild goose chase to the church for TEAM practice.  We
coordinated with the TEAM director to leave a note that something had
come up and TEAM was cancelled.  That gave us about an hour to get
ready and receive all the guests.  It worked remarkably well.

On Saturday, we attended a surprise birthday party for Brian Andrew
(ba@bruker.com) who turns 40 soon.  I used a Bob Dole joke on him
saying that "when Brian was asked whether he wore boxers or briefs,
Brian responded, 'Depends.'"  We still have a few more days to torment
the aging old coot.

Yesterday, Rich and Wendy Gonzalez had a baby girl, Thilia (email address
still making its way through the AOL bureaucracy).  (I probably spelled
the name wrong.)  The report I heard last night was that mother and
child were doing very well.

Non-birthday activities this weekend included burning all the tree litter
in my yard, pulling another of Andrew's teeth, and company for dinner on
Sunday.

The invitations for our Open House Celebration are being sent out.  This
email counts as one of those invitations.  (If you read this far.)  On
Saturday, April 19, we are hosting a celebration of what the Lord has
given us and want YOU to come and celebrate with us.  We are beginning
our celebration at 6:30pm.  Light refreshments will be served.
Directions are Route 3 to Exit 35.  Route 113 west into Pepperell
to Groton Street.  (My printed invitations say that there is a stop
sign at the corner of 113 and Groton street but this is mistaken.
Pepperell doesn't have many stop signs.  But you'll come to a T
in the road.  Turn LEFT there.  That's Groton St.)  We're about
a tenth of a mile up on the left.  #76.  Let us know if you can come
so Joy can make enough light refreshments.  If you can't make it on
the 19th, please let us know when you can come - we'd love to have you
over.
