Tue Apr 15 08:46 EDT 1997 ....................... I have delayed this weekend's update because of tragic news on the home front. My mother-in-law, Millie Crawford, has cancer that will likely take her life from her and us within a few months, give or take. We don't know all the facts but the clearing picture is grim and we are making preparations. My mother-in-law is a magnificent woman of God, and He has spared her life on several occasions, but it seems that He will call her home very soon. The blessing in our grief is the warning we have to interrupt our busy lives and attend to more important things of saying goodbye, sharing our tears, and looking to the future. As painful as this is for us, we have the opportunity to say last things that so many other people regret when their time comes to part with a loved one. We appreciate your prayers during this time. Perhaps an encouraging report may yet still come, but if not, I know (and love) my mother-in-law enough to know that her eyes have always been on eternity and she will prepare a welcome for us when we are called home.
