Weekend Update: Labor Day

Everything noted in the weekend predate happened as planned.  One might
think romance can be stilted that way, but there was no way.  I scored
big points on the romance meter this weekend that should last me into
next year!

Other things of note:

On Friday we succumbed and finally joined the hordes of other people
who pay for their television reception.  Now we have over 60 channels
of dribble in amazing clarity!  Three different shopping channels,
all selling the same pair of earrings.  My favorite of the three is
the Impulse Buying Network.

My brother Steve turns four-oh! today.  I was thinking of telling you
(true) stories about him for a change but I don't remember who all is
on this distribution list.  Of course, he could tell you (true) stories
about himself that would be cause to pause.  Forty years ago, Steve was
born on Labor Day, but when you think about it, we all were born on labor
day. Dad says that Stephen now "officially gets to wear black socks with
his open sandals."  That about says it best, I think.

Our kids go back to school this week.  Joy has been putting her nose
into the recipe books to find new and interesting ways to use the
fruit that has ripened on the trees.  I gutted the chicken house -
to be transformed into a bath house by next swimming season.

Oh, and Diana, Princess of Wales died this weekend, did you hear?
