Tue Apr 7 09:20 EDT 1998 Weekend Update: April 3-6 My computer system at work has been giving me all kinds of hassles since a power strike last week from a blown transformer. Fortunately, the important things were backed up but it has set me back a few days. Time to back up the important files on the Home PC. As some of you know, Joy had a biopsy on her tongue and has been recuperating from the surgery. She is improving daily and will soon be talking a mile a minute to make up for lost time. It is still painful to use the tongue but I've noticed clearer speech and increased ability to get food to the back of the mouth and swallow. Of course, it may be that hunger is overriding the pain. Miranda turns 18-years old today (April 7). I took her out to eat last night to the Red Lobster, just me and my little girl. It was my last chance to eat with my child-daughter. The menu featured all kinds of seafood. However, we found the land-based beasts and ate them instead. We cod have had fish just for the halibut, but it did our sole good not to swallow the swordfish. I know, I know; it's a floundering attempt at humor. I am not worried of Mrianda demanding whatever rights she believes an adult receives, now that she's 18. I still hold the trump cards of food, clothing, rent, and auto insurance. Neither of us is any hurry to shoo her from the nest; that all comes too quickly anyway. She'll always be my girl in some ways, even though she is a beautiful woman. It's compost-digging days at the Manor. Yum yum! The boxes have all been placed and leveled and now were tilling in the rotted, decayed and decaying leaves. For those who don't know what raised beds in a garden look like, picture a bunch or ordered sand boxes, filled with dirt. Outside of the sandboxes are the pathways and inside them (hopefully) are the plants. Easter is almost here and I've scoped out the sales on Coca-cola; 79 cents per bottle at the local market. It's bee seven weeks of water and I am looking forward to many different flavored beverages. I'll try not to overdo it; I haven't missed the extra 600+ calories/day that I drank. Have a great week, folks! Mark ^`.
