Subject: Weekend Update: September 11-13 Date: Mon 9/14/98 7:59am Well, God has taken out his Autumn paintbrush and colored the first select branches in the trees. Summer is vanishing so it is time to put my sandals away and pack away my shorts. Andrew and I defied conventional wisdom and jumped in the pool on Saturday. The air was close to 80 but the water was mountain spring-cold. We'd jump in and get out right away, but we had fun; two kids seeing who would be the last one out of the pool. We'll keep it open for looks for the choir picnic this coming Saturday. There may be a kid or two who will also want that "last swim of the year." Joy and I did some yard sailing this past Saturday; we really hadn't done much of it this year for one reason or another. We hit a bunch of places but the pickin's were slim. Hope (Joy's sister), Tom, and Charity stopped in for the night on Saturday, and we caught up on the progress of their house which should be ready in the next couple of weeks. I think for once, life happened to other people instead of us this weekend. And that's not a bad thing for us from time to time. :-) Mark Surfin' *** Mark Metcalfe the *** \o Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
