Maria and Isaac had at least four children, three of whom were considered infants at the time of Jacob's will for they are identified as such when listed as heirs and next of kin in his will. It appears that Elsie raised Maria's children because Maria was deceased and Elsie was married to Isaac at the time of Jacob's will. I know that this cannot be correct because I know the date of William's birth and the names of all of his children. Therefore, it is uncertain at this time who the parents are. One thing is fairly sure - that he is either a descendant of Jacob and Neeltje Quackenbush through one of their sons (Harmon, Lewis, and Folkert) or of Jacob's brother Peter, because only these families settled in the Candor, Spencer, Tioga Co. area.
