1. I am no longer building this database but am willing to look up information in Dr. Van Woerts manuscript upon request.

2. The blue bars between the names in the database are links that will take you to the top of the page.

3. In one case, Irving was able to identify the husband and father of a female Van Woert but not her name. This person is listed in the section Dau-Eli under the heading Daughter of.... If you know the married name of a female Van Woert but have not been able to find her check here.

4. Some of our Van Woert ancestors have used a nickname or a diminutive form of their given name. The grandmother you know as Grammy Lena might be found in the database as Helen or Helena. If you have an ancestor known to you as Betsy check Elizabeth because Betsy was a very common diminutive form of that name. When I was aware of a diminutive or other name used for an individual I listed it in the index. For instance my relative Reuben Smith generally went by the name Smith so I have listed him in the index under both names.

5. I have made every effort to copy the source numbers (deed references, baptismal records, etc) as accurately as I can from Irvings manuscript. However, I am human and errors can occur. If you are requesting these records from the various offices, I would suggest you inform the recipients that the record should contain the name Van Woert (or that of the allied family if applicable).

6. I have made no effort to standardize the spelling of either family names or location names in this work, but have tried to copy them as given in the manuscript. For example, if you see the spelling Van Woort or Van Voort instead of Van Woert, it is not misspelled but found that way in the record.
