Official CROLF Logo Design

Steve S. mentioned an official CROLF logo design. A design was decided upon by seven of the Current Official CROLF Members and design was announced on Wednesday, November 24, 1999. Congratulations to Steve S. as the Official CROLF logo design winner in this quarter's contest! However, there was stiff competition with designs which were submitted by Tony T. and by Henry R. Jeanette S. offered three design submissions. There was a total of 12 designs that members reviewed. Thanks to all contestant participants! Our new CROLF logo design is below and will be used in our upcoming Official CROLF Quarterly. Keep a look out though--no telling where else you may see this design! There has been some discussion of adding this design onto our Official CROLF uniforms.

CROLF History Completed

CROLF began as an idea that led to an action. Since then, Professional Resident and Grounds Keeper, Henry R., has developed the history of CROLF with the aid of Myrna T.'s computer skills. Currently, a CROLF website is being designed and the History of CROLF will be available to all in the near future..

CROLF Equipment

There was discussion of a fall event for a "Dead Mallet Party". Burning of the well-used and no longer useable mallets was planned as the main event. This particular fall event did not occur for various reasons. However, something new on the CROLF Equipment has occurred. Henry R. has made our CROLF mallets using bois d'arc wood as the mallet head and using past croquet handles. These mallets come in various heights accommodating any size of a person's physical build or personal preference.

Official Uniform T-Shirt Designed

There have been discussions of an Offical Winter CROLF uniform. To this date, one has not been designed. The weather has been too good to give up our Official Summer CROLF uniforms this quarter! However, it was reported that Wanda R. was dressed in her coat, scarf, ear muffs, hat and gloves while on the CROLF field during this quarter. Other ideas for Winter CROLF uniforms included sweatshirts. More discussions will occur later in the year.

Hole In One Club Announcement

The Hole In One Club members offers a challenge to those of us who have not made a hole in one yet--to keep working at it. They look forward to their club increasing their membership. Current Hole in One Club Members are:

Tournament Held

On November 25-28, 1999, our CROLF Thanksgiving Fall Festival Tournament was held. To make this tournament even more challenging, the course was humanly altered somewhat by Resident Grounds Keeper, Henry R. Other alterations occurred due to environmental elements such as grass becoming dormant. Since the CROLF course has changed, there has been 17 holes in one made on our new course this quarter! More tournaments are being scheduled in the near future. Current Official CROLF members will be notified as tournament dates are set.

Official Score Cards & Recordkeeping Sheets

Our official CROLF individual player score cards are working out wonderfully and everyone is enjoying using them. An ample supply was again donated by Tony and Myrna T. These cards are designed so that each individual player can do their own statistics for each hole per game. These score cards are useful when transfering onto our Official CROLF Recordkeeping Sheets for such information as how many games were played, etc. Look for more stastical information at the end of this issue. Thank you for all your contributions, Myrna and Tony, from all of us!

Opportunities Available:

If there is something you would like to see in the upcoming Offical CROLF Quarterly, feel free to suggest and even write up a story item. Submit to Jeanette S. or Henry R. The next edition is planned for March, 2000. If you have an idea of an upcoming event, feel free to express your idea(s) to any other Current Official CROLF members. All seem to be open to hear these suggestions.
