History Being Made

CROLF began as an idea that led to an action. Since then, Professional Resident and Grounds Keeper, Henry R., is currently developing an history of CROLF. We are looking forward to seeing and having this history to share our interest with others. Who knows, more community interest may even develop. Let us all support Henry in this endeavor, so .... ?Go For It, Dude!? from all of us.

Official CROLF Logo Design

CONTEST!CONTEST!CONTEST!CONTEST!

Steve S. has mentioned about an official CROLF logo design. However, one has not been designated. Anyone who would like to particiate in this contest, please submit a design to Henry R. by Saturday, November 6, 1999. A design will be picked and announced on Thursday, November 25, 1999, Thanksgiving Day. Good Luck to All Participants!

CROLF Equipment

When CROLF began, an old croquet set was used. We now know that this set even though well used, was the best made. Since then, we have gone through about four sets of mallets. We are always keeping out an eye for a quality mallet for a good price of course! Currently there is discussion of an upcoming fall event for a "Dead Mallet Party." Burning of the well used and no longer useable mallets is planned as the main event. As more information develops, an announcement will be made to official members.

Official Uniform T-Shirt Designed

Tony and Myrna T. have designed our official CROLF T-shirt. They designed and painted the design work themselves. What a terrific job! Everyone, including the children, like the T-shirts. The adults have pockets on the left upper side of the shirts. This sure is handy for score cards, pencils and other little useful items!

Front View Back View

Tony and Myrna have also designed the Hole In One Club design.

Hole In One Club Announcement

The Hole In One Club members offers a challenge to those of us who have not made a hole

in one yet. They look forward to their club gaining in members. Current Hole in One Club Members are:

Henry R. - 7 holes in one, Wanda R. - 1 hole in one, Myrna T. - 1 hole in one, Tony T. - 4 holes in one, Steve S. - 2 holes in one. This offers a new challenge to Professional Resident and Greens Keeper, Henry R.--he is striving to keep his average up above 50% of the total number of holes in one. Good Luck to All!

Tournaments Held Since June 1999

Tournaments were held on the following weekends:

  • July 4th Weekend -- 1st Annual PawPaw CROLF Tournament
  • July 31-August 1 Weekend -- Tournament
  • September 4-6 Weekend -- 1st Annual Labor Day Tournament
  • More tournaments are being scheduled in the near future. Official CROLF members will be

notified as tournament dates are set.

Official Score Cards & Recordkeeping Sheets

Myrna T. has designed an official CROLF individual player score card. An ample supply

has been purchased from Tony and Myrna T. as well. These cards are designed so that each

individual player can do their own statistics for each hole per game. Statistics do not have to be

done by the player, only if a player desires to. The cards fit in the adult T-Shirt pocket very well.

Thank you for all your contributions, Myrna and Tony, from all of us!

Jeanette S. has developed an overall tournament style score sheet. The formulas have

been inserted and players can see where they place in the total average of all games played.

The sheets can be kept and provide additional history.

    Awards

Many awards have been given this quarter. All Official CROLF Members received participation awards. Myrna T. received the first Hole in One and the first damaged ball award. Henry R. received the Professional Grounds Keeper award. Tabitha H. received the first participant hurt award. It does make you wonder just what the next award(s) may be named and what they will be.

    Opportunities Available:

If there is something you would like to see in the Offical CROLF Quarterly, feel free to suggest

and even write up a story item. Submit to Jeanette S. or Henry R. The next edition is planned for

    December, 1999.

If you have an idea of an upcoming event, whether fall or winter, feel free to express your idea(s)

to any other Official CROLF members. All seem to be open to hear these ideas.
