George Harper Will,
Jones County, Georgia

In the name of God Amen.
I George Harper of the county of Jones and State of Georgia being weak 
of body but of sound and disposing mind do make this my last will and 
testament, at the same time utterly revoking all former wills by me 
made-
First of all I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it and 
my body to be buried in a decent and Christian order.  
As to the distribution of my worldly goods, I will first that all my 
just debts be paid.
Second I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Lydia Harper the sum 
of one hundred and twenty dollars each year during her natural life, 
which sum shall be paid by four legatees to the said Lydia Harper for 
her support, viz Micajah Harper, George R. Harper, Wiseman Ross and 
John B. Heetle who shall become under a written obligation to the said 
Lydia Harper for the fourth coming of said sum annually and each of the 
other legatees shall become under a like obligation to the above named 
legatee for their proportionable part of said sum before the 
distribution of my estate.  Also, one negro girl by the name of Clary, 
one gentle saddle horse and so much of the household furniture as she 
may wish to have the use of said named property during her natural 
life.  After her decease said property to be sold and the proceeds to 
be equally distributed between my heirs-
3rd  I give and bequeath unto two daughters Sarah and Jane five hundred 
dollars each extra of an equal distribution.  I also will that all my 
landed and perishable property to be sold and my negroes be divided by 
lot so far as practicable and the result of sale and lot be equally 
divided between my heirs viz William, Elizabeth, Mary D., Jane L., 
Sarah, Nancy, James, Micajah, Frances, Wiseman Ross representative of 
Elvira Die, George R., Lydia – I also appoint my sons Micajah and 
George R. Harper sole executors of this my last will and testament-

Jones County}  Before us James Godard and Howell F. Williams, Justices 
of the Inferior Court for the County aforesaid personally came Wiseman 
Ross, Elijah Lindsey and Thomas Lindsey who being duly sworn depose and 
say that they saw George Harper sign seal publish and declare the 
within instrument to be and contain his true last will and testament 
that at the time of executing the same the testator was of sound and 
disposing mind and memory and done so freely and of his own accord and 
that deponents subscribed the same as witnesses at the request of 
testator in his presence and in the presence of each other-
