Francis , the oldest son , Has a percular history. At about the age of 7 or 8
he disappeared from his father's house. That he was born about 1619
is supported by the fact
that that he was required to sign the submission to Massachusetts in 1653.
This Francis did not come over with his mother on the Belvis.
Exeter land records say that Goodman Littlefield received" four acres,twenty
rods ".
on 1639.

Granted in 1643 to Francis Littlefield from Sir. Ferdinando Georges, Lord
Proprietor of Maine,This is little more then a deed to Littlefield from
George's agent and deputy governor. Thiis document is a patent:
To all to whome theise present shall come greeting know yee that I Thomas
George Deputy Governor of the province of Mayne by vertue of Authority from Sir
fferdinando Georges Knight Lord Proprietor of the said province for divers good
causes & considerations me thereunto moveing have In the behalfe of the said
grant & confirme unto ffrancis Littlefield of Wells in the counrty of Somersett
the elder ffifty Acres of Land scituate Lying & being in Wells aforesaid
adoining the land of Edmund Littlefield on the Easter side thereof containing
twenty poles in breadth towards the sea & soe up into the Mayne Land till
ffifty acres be compleated with all the Marsh twenty poles likewise in breadth
and eight acres or thereabout to be ground lyeing betweene the said land & the
Sea wall to contayne taken in Egunquick Marsh to have & to hould the aforesaid
land & all & singular the primies with the appurtenances unto the said ffrancis
littlefield his heir & assignes for ever to the only use & behoofe of the
saidffrancis Littlefield his heires & assignes for even more, yielding & paying
for
the prmies yearely unto the said fferdinando Georges his heires & assignes two
shillings & six pence on the Nine & twenieth day of September And I the said
Thomas George doe herby depute Edmund Littlefield to be my lawful attorney in
the behalf of the Said Sr fferdinando Georges to enter into the prmises or into
pte thereof in the name of the whole & to take possesion therof & after seisin
& possesion so taken to deliver possesion & secison of the prmises unto the
said ffrancis Littlefield in witness whereof I the said Thomas George have
hereunto sett my hand & seals the ffoureteenth day of July Anno Dmi 1643.
Tho George Deputi Govenor
Sealed Signed & Delivered
in the presence of Vereable & queyet possession taken
Roger Guarde & given to ffrancis Littlefield of all
George Puddinton pts & prtlls of land & Marshs with
