Control or Influence by this principality (the spirit of anarchy) manifests in various degrees often in conjunction with other spirits:
The spirit of anarchy frequently operates in conjuction with the spirit of rebellion and usually with Vengenance, Retribution and Retaliation or with the spirit of apathy and/or suicide etc. These powers and principalities often combine their operations resulting in or leading to the manifestation of other more dangerous spirits, such as the spirit of havoc, chaos, mayhem (escalation of murder and/or *suicide.)
*These entities seldom work alone, more often several combine their attacks, and they do so in varying degrees. A spirit of murder can manifest as subtly as encouraging someone to harbor hatred in the heart (with or without a desire to kill) or the spiritual assault may be as obvious as leading or influencing an individual to entertain homocidal fantasies, even suggesting various "how to" plots.
The act of suicide, which is itself motivated by a spirit, begins with that spirit introducing thoughts of suicide and then (if allowed) keeps on re-introducing suicidal thoughts, which usually lead to suggestions of ways to carry it out. Yet an assualt by the spirit of suicide may be as subtle as persistant feelings of hopelessness, due to oppression by the spirit of suicide. (In any case both murder and suicide are in opposition to the law of God, and hence, are given place as a direct result of influence by the spirit of anarchy.)
Description of the activity of the Spirit of Anarchy in the lives of individuals includes but is
not limited to:
lack of normal feelings or having inappropriate, even disproportionate emotion
-especially in response toward the actions or attitudes of others. Controls &/or
conversely, will withhold or may display emotions manipulatively as it suits their own
purposes: uses emotions as a means to a desired end. Very adept at manipulating
others by playing upon their emotions, yet is callous as steel against the emotional
upheaval, distress, harm they inflict.
Demonstrates a lack of interest -to the point of total indifference to anything or anyone
outside of their own immediate areas of personal interest, meaning they are not
interested in much of anything that does not effect their own immediate wants,
desires, needs (lusts) etc.
Non-complaisant: demonstrates consistent unwillingness to please others, often
disagreeable and unobliging, except as it is convenient to them.
Non-compliant: will not comply with directives, -although not always openly defiant.
Often makes quite a show or pretense of compliance. Acts extremely hurt or slighted
whenever any attempt is made to unmask their pretenses or when confronted with their
hypocrisy.
Deliberate listlessness: contrived weariness, acting cast down, disheartened, "acts"
dejected -devices of the soul or rebellious psyche used to solicit sympathy on their
behalf when in fact, these devices are actually being employed as defense mechanisms
in order to subtly evade correction, accountability or responsibility.
trifle/trifling: treats things and or people as of little value, *trivial, unimportant, talks &
acts jokingly and/or even mockingly -without earnestness.
Seeks self-gratification and self-satisfaction (at anyone's cost.) Seems self absorbed,
self-centeredness is typical.
Irresponsible: not liable to be called into account for their own actions; displays a
marked lack of a sense of personal responsibility, refuses to be answerable or
accountable for actions or choices; mocks or makes only a pretense of submission to
legitimate authority; despises instruction or makes a pretense of heeding reproof;
scoffs at warnings of consequences; demonstrates a consistent lack of commitment.
Rationalizes: makes excuses for actions, beliefs or desires: usually without being aware
that their expressed motives are not their real motives. Consistently shifts the blame to
others or blames the circumstances in order to make excuses for themselves &/or to
justify their own behavior or attitudes.
Undisciplined: lacks knowledge, learning and training; lacks self-control, character and
"order" -is perpetually or consistently disorganized. (This behavior in the work place
for example is seen in people who seem to be in a constant flurry of activity -they look
really busy, but have no real productivity.)
Where the spirit of anarchy is in operation, there is also a spirit of rebellion or
rebelliousness. The operation of these spirits can be very obvious or extremely subtle
ranging from showing disdain by body language -like rolling the eyes back in a look of
disgust when corrected, to more obvious tantrum type episodes of open defiance.
Lack of submission to discipline (self or otherwise) or to any authority. This enhances
disorganization and lack of order in their lives and tends to adversely effect, -has a
negative impact on the lives of others around them.
Has a lackadaisical attitude, having a lackadaisical spirit (often seen operating in conjunction with the spirit of anarchy) is typically demonstrated by one who
does things half way, obeys by measure, complies only as much as they have to in order to get by; does a
job half way and considers it "good enough for who it's for" without regard for any kind
of repercussions; lacks genuine concern for the effect their attitude &/or actions have upon
others, -downplays or shows a lack of consideration of the potential for disastrous
consequences due to their failure to do things properly (often mistaken for laziness.)
*Regarding how the spirit of anarchy manifests itself via trivia, trivalizing etc.
(1) The spirit of anarchy causes a person to trivialize the truth in an attempt to dismiss or discredit it, by disposing of facts and/or the truth (by trying to make the thing seem unimportant or trivial) while at the same time, the spirit of anarchy will cause a person to magnify some other point or issue that really is unrelated, or which truly is trivial.
(a) A favorite tactic of the spirit of anarchy is to discount facts and try to "eliminate the truth" for instance, by claiming something does "not apply here" or is "off the subject" at hand, doing so in order to evade correction by shifting the focus of attention off the facts, off the truth (away from the heart of a matter) onto something else that is truly not the crux of the matter at all.
Redirection (often by changing the subject) takes place in an attempt by this spirit to evade correction by the truth and to shift the focus off of what is pertinent and true, onto that which is supercilious or derisive (raising the eyebrow at, mocking, disdain, showing disregard for and trivializing the facts or the truth) to render the facts or the truth of none effect.
(b) People who are operating or reacting under the spirit of anarchy will often zero in on a non-issue to avoid the real issue.
(c) People who are operating or reacting under the influence of the spirit of anarchy often exhibit more interest in trivia than truth; often showing or having more regard for unimportant matters (which they magnify) than they will have regard or respect for that which concerns what is right, true and just (which they will either play down, disregard, disrespect, trivialize, mock, shun and/or completely ignore.)
(2) One application of the above is when people pick apart the facts or the truth (which ever applies) and choose to focus on trivial points, for instance regarding the application of the "letter of the word" rather than focusing instead upon the truth, in the Spirit of the word. This too is due to the influence of the spirit of anarchy. The spirit of anarchy will seek to emphasize the letter of the word and will do so to great lengths, in order to discount, deny, deemphasize or supplant the Spirit of the word.
(3) Another application is when a teenager (while rebeling against parental correction) will oppose godly correction and/or reject right authority (while they are under the influence of the spirit of anarchy) by focusing in on some trivial point in a dialogue (or introduce a trivial point which can be fabricated) in order to evade correction and avoid accountability to right authority.
(4) When justice and equity, or what is right is supplanted either in our courts by tipping the scales of justice (or in our churches, by false weights & measures of truth) more in favor of "the letter of the law" than the spirit of the law, then the people are often outraged (why?) because their spirit bears witness that this is wrong!
Perverting justice (calling good "evil" and calling evil "good") according to the letter of the law without deference to, respect for the intended purpose and "spirit of the law" produces a mockery of justice: this is the spirit of anarchy masquerading as truth or light.
What is right in the sight of man is often weighed according to false weights and measures, according to the letter only. Whereas what is right in the Sight of God is always both in Spirit, and in Truth, not according to the letter only.
Note: information on this page is not presented as material intended as counseling. I
am merely "sharing" what the Lord has taught me about the activity of these spirits and
some of the more subtle ways in which these spirits can manifest themselves or have
an influence in people's lives.
I strongly believe the evidence of the manifestation or activity of these spirits in
anyone's life indicates an urgent need for prayer and is evidence of either a lack of a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as Savior and Lord -or, the need to renew that
relationship (and to bind the activity of these spirits) in the life of a believer.
