Uni People
As well as going on about me, I think I'll actually let there be pictures of other people! Here's the first page such, a page devoted to the people I live with and all the other people we regularly meet up with, and the people I go to lectures with.
First, obviously, there has to be the obligatory picture of me!

1. Matthew Dixon (me) known as - "Matt" or "S.P." plus many other less polite names (including "Matt 'the Horse' Dixon" by Quince) I still do not know what S.P. stands for. Ket says it stands for "Singing Personality", Tesni "because he's SPecial", someone else also said it stood for "Special Person". The last person was drunk, the middle one is female. Hmmm... Both therefore may have reason for making it stand for Special Person, so I think I'll go with Singing Personality as I was the second in the whole of uni hall to do karaoke on the first karaoke night of last year. Many of my friends from home always ask me whether I have a girlfriend. To this I say no - not yet. There is of course the other question of do I want one. I will leave this open that maybe I do fancy one of the people on this page, maybe I fancy someone else not on this page, or maybe I fancy no-one. I now continue this page with the other 10 (yes, really 10) people I share a house with. They are listed randomly, so no-one can complain at being put last! |
|
2. Christopher Hawkins known as - "Chris" or "Minkins" (no reason behind the name!) Chris is my one of my 2 next-door neighbours. The only person in the group not to live in the Birchwood basement at Uni Hall, he met us through being on Quincy's course (business). He is a very keen member of the rowing club and is also the keenest cycler amongst us. |

3. Paul Crump known as - "Crump" or "Crumpy" Living in a house with 2 Pauls meant that they instantly got known by a surname basis. Crump, a zoologist by study, is one of our 2 smokers. Apart from cigarettes and naturally alcohol, his other interests are the Beatles and hip-hop music, and Kelly Brook whose posters are plastered all over his walls! |
|
4. Paul Cusick known as - "Quince" or "Quincy" I said that both Pauls were known by surname, but Cusick got misheard at first as "Quincy". He studies business with Chris (well at least he is enrolled on the course!). He is probably the best organiser of the group and so became the chief negotiator with Keylet, the people we got the house from. He's apparently a devout catholic but I've not seen him go to church yet. Mind you, most people don't actually even get up on a Sunday morning. He is a big fan of Watford FC. |

5. Noel Jones known as - "Noel" or "Nobby" (unfortunately for him!) Noel is a computer scientist by study, and is the only other person that spends significant amounts of time on his computer (other than me). He is very much into science fiction (Star Trek and Buffy the Vampire Slayer in particular) He is also into rock music. |
|
6. Henry Goatcher known as - "Henners" or "Henus" (pron. as penis) Over the past year, when we were in a flat with no lounge, Henry's room instantly became the lounge. The reason - apart from everyone being good friends with him- Henry had the playstation which everyone wanted to play on. Henry studies Marine Geography. His musical taste is diverse, encompassing Moby, Macy Gray, Aerosmith, the Stereophonics and the Jungle Brothers alongside many acts that hardly anyone has heard of. He's also currently borrowing my keyboard so I wait and hear if anything comes of that.

7. Jasdeep Gangotra known as - "Jas" Jas is probably the one amongst us who thinks he is "cool" and for whom being "cool" is most important. Music-wise I like most of what he likes (RnB/Hip Hop/Garage), but he does not like a lot of what I listen to (Divine Comedy, Beautiful South). |
|
8. Ketan Patel known as - "Ket" From the first day I met these guys I always knew Ket possessed leadership. It was always his stereo that the music came out of that filled the flat, (much to the dislike of the girl that lived above him!) He got us organised, and at first it was through him that we met many of the other people pictured on the page. Ket comes from Staines and as any good Staines person should, swears allegiance to the "Staines Massive" and the one and only "Ali G". Ket quit Neuroscience (zzzzz) to join the start of year one Maths, and asked me to make sure I have all my year one notes with me! (I can't possibly think why ?!?) |

9. David Owens known as - "Dave" or "Owens" Dave is a civil engineering student, and came in very useful when looking through houses, looking out for subsidence etc. He is a bit older than the rest of us, and is always the one that seems that bit more worldly-wise. He also, however, was the one that provided the Scalextric set, and watches worrying amounts of Pokemon! |
|
10. Julian DeVal known as - "Jules" Jules is, as the picture shows, the tallest of us. Unfortunately, I don't have a good picture of him, but this will change soon (as it will with most people.) He studies chemistry, and is one of the other people in the house with a computer, although he doesn't use it as much. He is one of the people I will be living with next year (alongside Crump, Henry and Sambo) |

11. Geoffrey Hobbs known as - "Geoff" or "Hobbsy" Geoff is someone with 2 very key interests. He is in a major South Wales youth rugby team, and is VERY passionate about the sport, holding Neil Jenkins right up there with... ... well, Abs Breen, Jay Brown, Sean Conlon, Rich Neville and Scott Robinson. Yes, Geoff is a big fan of "Five". Need we say more? I think not! |
