Terrells Mark 50th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. H. G Terrell Sr., of the Burnett Ferry Road, celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday at the Celanese Clubhouse. Some 100 relatives and friends enjoyed lunch
together and other friends called during the afternoon.
Gold chrysanthemums combined with greenery formed a beautiful) setting for the event. Cake and Punch were
served during the afternoon.
The group gathered around the piano and sang a number of favorite songs which were tape recorded. Moving
pictures were also made. Mr. and Mrs. Terrell were married Dec. 5, 1909 by the Rev. William Cooper at his
home on what is now Redmond Circle.
Mrs. Terrell is the former Miss Luna Presley, daughter of Sara Ann Vaughn and George Roland Presley. Her parents
came to Floyd County from South Carolina when she was a child. Mr. Terrell was the son of Mattie Sybilla Hull and
John Wesley Terrell, who came here from Bartow County about 1900. The couple formerly resided In the Mountain
Springs Community near the Berry Schools. They have lived in Floyd County most of their lives and operated a dairy
farm for many years.
Mr. Terrell served four years in the Navy in World War II and is now an officer for the Board of Corrections at
Battey State Hospital.
The Terrell's have seven children 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
