"Children Are Our Future"
Mr. Dan Lopez - Candidate

Dan is a California native who has made San Jose his home for the last 24 years. He has 5 children and 5 grandchildren. He is married to Quetta Lopez. A veteran of 5 years in the U.S. Army and 6 years in the California National Guard, Dan is a retired Public Health communicable disease investigator. He has attended several colleges in the state including Fresno State, San Diego State University and San Jose City College for continuing education that included an emphasis in labor studies. Dan also attended the University of Mayland. He speaks three languages.

Dan Lopez believes San Jose is a city that has provided an opportunity for families to thrive and plant their roots. San Jose must continue to provide an environment that keeps our streets safe for children and communities. It must serve the needs of the local neighborhoods where the most valuable resource resides - the people who work daily to bring success to Silcon Valley.

Issues:

1. Strengthen the tradition and policy of supporting and giving health assessment and job opportunities to American GIs by giving them earned points for risking their lives and for their patriotism in defending our freedoms and way of life.

2. Encourage business to provide training in computer skills at the neighborhood senior centers, where seniors can use computers to do personal research and job hunting. Seniors who have added computer skills to those they have learned over a lifetime will be an invaluable resource to the community and to those businesses wise enough to select them.

3. Bring government back to the People. Return the peoples' just powers to control their own lives. Strive to make San Jose City government a government of the people and for the people; a government whose just powers are derived from all of us who are governed.
