Do you need filtration?
All sources of water,
including well water, can be contaminated. The
municipalities do the best they can to stay within the
guidelines set forth by the E.P.A. Even bottled water may
not be "clean" because bottled water up to this
point has been a largely unregulated industry.
By using a home

The
Mission - Family Water System 
The Mission Family Water System was developed through a
partnership of business and ministry to answer the
microbiological problems found in water that directly
relate to the health and welfare of the population of
many Third World Countries. There are numerous items
available to solve microbiological water problems, but
most are too sophisticated and costly for actual
implementation into the family setting of many of these
countries.
The key was to develop a simple, low cost system that
would enable a family of five to ten people to have safe
water to drink without the problem of costly
installation, replacement costs and complicated
operation. It must be remembered that most of the areas
of the world where these units are needed have no
processed water and rely on streams, reservoirs and other
untreated sources of water.
Some rural water problems are answered by putting in new
wells and some by building infrastructure and water
treatment facilities that can successfully provide safe
water for the population. However, wells can become
contaminated through floods and various other
catastrophes, and infrastructure is costly and takes a
solid organization to maintain.
There have been over 35,000 Mission Family Water Systems
distributed to families in remote areas of different
countries with follow-up testing, and to date all systems
are operating successfully. This system can be put into a
family's hands for less than $50 each with a maintenance
cost of around $15 per year. The system uses either basic
household bleach or chlorine tablets, along with dirt and
sediment filtration, and carbon filtration for the
removal of the residual chlorine taste and odor.
