Myrna, Just browsing and saw your answer to John Gay's question. I believe you may have Elijah's father wrong. I believe that his parents were Elijah and Alice
(Unknown) Teague. I received a copy of Carl Metcalf's book and that is how he had him listed. I have read other records that seem to support this view. Joshua was
the brother of the Elijah b. @@1726 and they were the children of William and Isabella Loftin Teague. Joshua was married to Dorothy Gaunt and their son William
Teague is my ancestor. He married Elizabeth Miller. Joshua's son Elijah married Elizabeth Leavell and he died in Laurens Co., SC 02 Oct 1824.
William and Elizabeth's son James Jefferson Teague came to the area of Benton Co., Al. before it became a county. He was one of the first settlers in the area.
Family tradition states he was here in 1828. If so, he was a squatter on Indian lands.
Let me hear from you soon. I will be glad to share any info I have.

Catherine Teague. She is the daughter of Edward Teague and Susan Unknown. She was born 10 Jun 1690 in Cecil Co., MD. married 13 May 1705 Mark
Whitaker and died 15 Nov 1717. I have further info on her children given me by Carl Metcalf of California. He has compiled information from different sources and
put together in a book. The info is not documented so you would have to prove it, but it does give you a starting point. He sent me the book on two 3.5 floppy disks.
I can try to send the info to you if you want me to.

The Edward Teague I referred to was born abt 1655 and he and Susan had 3 children: William, Catherine, and Ann. Edward was a very common name in the
Teague family. I'm sorry I didn't mention the birth date before. If you could give me some dates, maybe I can help...
---Edward was married to Susan Smith born 1671 in Cecil Co MD died 1695-1761. They were married 1689. I got this info from someone else. I would like to know
any info on Isabella Lofton/Loftin/Pennington who married William Teague who was born in 1693. Any help would be appreciated.

James, yes, you're right. Rachel Taylor was the 2nd wife of Moses Teague. I believe her father's will is at Frederick Co., VA and names her, but I can't recall his first
name. I am from Moses' first wife, Eliz. Loftin.
Hope this helps you. Peggy Logan-----

http://members.aol.com/GillyKilly/Teague.html GREAT, incredibly well-documented source!

note: info is copyright Susan Cook, and what she has on the Teagues is what she has.
Welcome to my Teague homepage! Below you will find a four generation outline of the Teague family, which came from England and settled in Cecil
county, MD in the late 1600's. This information is the result of many researchers. If you have any additions, please feel free to email me.
NOTICE: There is an ongoing(and probably never ending) controversy concerning the marriage of 2William Teague, as to whether it was to Isabella
Pennington or Isabella Loftin. Early, when I first began researching, I came across an old book(which has since disappeared from my local
library)that gave the wife as Isabella Pennington. Others out there insist it was Isabella Loftin. All I can tell you is no one has found hard
documentation to support this either way, as I cannot produce the publication I found my information in, and other researchers seem to be going on
the elimination theory(meaning which Isabella can be documented in relation to the Teagues the most). So, for all of you first starting out,
REMEMBER to document every source you come across. It's a hard lesson to learn. Also remember, that if you feel you have documented your
information fully and someone comes along to tell you that you are wrong, view their documents and yours and make your own decision. I place my
information on my web site to offer a place to start looking, to share with all of you, my family. To try to help you find your connection to this and
other families. While I am a firm believer in documentation and always do so when researching, lines like the Teagues, are a combination of all
researchers and you must remember that you, yourself, must go in search of your own documentation. I can assure you, that my direct lines are
always documented to the best of my ability and I believe the information to be true and accurate.Descendants of Edward Teague

The Swaim Legend:The Swaim's came to Staten Island from HollandLoyalty to their Dutch origin was a marked characteristic, and when the British took New York away
from the Dutch, they didn't go for that at all. Some of them fled to New Jersey, having placed on their backs a placard explaining their situation:Sworn to
Withhold
Allegiance from
Invading
MonarchThe British arrested some of these people, and booked them, from the initial letters of their slogan, as S.W.A.I.M., thus the name SWAIM.
There is also a Swaim Avenue on Staten Island.
