Restaurant

Fabulous feasting

Stroll along to the restaurant and feast your eyes on the sumptuous spread awaiting you. A steward comes forward to show you to your table.
The waiter serves your first course, then help yourself again and again. The cold buffet is a feast in itself and the chef's roast looks scruptious. If you like spicy food, our chef has conjured up some wonderful Indonesian specialities and an imaginative menu for vegetarians, too.
Now, on to the desserts. Go on, have another. It's all included in the very reasonable price, which is even better value if you book in advance. Leave room for the cheese, though, there's such an interesting selection. Fresh fruit, coffee? And now how about an after dinner digestif in the Piano Bar?
Too much for the children? No problem, we've got it all organised with Uncle Wally's Big Bite Children's menu, specially designed for junior tastes.
And in the morning, after a good night of sleep in your comfortable cabin or reclining seat, a full English breakfast is waiting. Crispy bacon, eggs, sausages, it's all there. Or help yourself to a generous Continental breakfast with cereals, cold meats cheese and croissants.

Bars

How about an after dinner digestif in the sophisticated atmosphere of the Piano Bar? Or perhaps you prefer to settle down with a good book? You'll find the Quiet Room a haven of peace.
As the evening progresses, you might like to take to the dance floor to the romantic notes of our resident band. Or perhaps you'd rather wait till late when the disco beat gets going.

Please note:
Although price lists in the bars show you prices in Pound Sterling only, we do accept all of the most common European currencies.

The Minster of York, an overwhelming monument
Top attraction of York is the impressive Minster; the biggest middle-age cathedral in Europe and among others famous for her exceptional glass windows. They were built on the remains of 7 other churches of which the oldest dates back to the year 627. Today the Minster is the chair of the Archbishopof York.
Jorvik Viking Centre
This popular attraction brings you with a train back in time to the Vikings. You drive along a reconstruction of a settlement where you will see, hear and smell the day to day life of this rough nation.
National Railway museum
Everything that has to deal with rail and trains is collected here in the biggest railway museum of England.
Automatic Museum
A museum that has a collection of all kinds of old, magic instruments, which at once recall the child in you.
York Castle Museum
Victorian streets and interiors are reproduced in the smallest detail in this impressive museum.
Shopping
Shopping in York is very pleasant. Strolling through the ancient streets lined with small shops filled with all sorts of things and souvenirs. The most famous street in York is the "Shambles" where in years gone by butchers sold their meat.
English specialities and traditions
In York there are many small restaurants where you can enjoy the English specialities such as fish & chips, pork pie, roast beef.... For a real English Pint step into one of the many pubs or take "afternoon tea" in one of the cosy tea rooms.
