I'm on the plane and the plane is a 737-500. There are about 110 people on this aircraft and Iím rolling, a rolling down the taxiway. We started to take off, but then a warning horn went off. So we got off the runway check it out. it is interesting how your mind wonders what it could be. I smelt exhaust when the engines first started up, but that probably always happens. The plane went back to have the maintenance personnel look at it. we left and it was fine. I read the whole way. I think that is why I feel a little sick. The ride to Houston was a little bumpy. It was funny sitting in the back and watching everyoneís heads bounce back and forth. I am waiting for the plane in Houston that goes to Mexico City. I got to sit in the flight deck. Afterward I had a silly grin on my face so I took a picture of myself. Also the woman sitting next to me didnít want her breakfast, so I asked the stewardess if I could have hers. Score! As most of you know I love food.
I asked the man in Mexico City in spanish, what time is it? He said quarter to four. I didn't understand him right away because he said it so fast. But then I figured it out. By the way I declared my peanuts through customs because it said no fruits or vegetables. They said it was fine. I am presently smelling the best steak in the world, but I donít know if I can eat here without getting sick. It is very sticky here, but it is not too hot.
11:00PM Still Thursday
I have been here less than six hours; right from the plane Lynn (Missionary pilots wife) took me to the hospital to meet this older Christian couple. She was in the hospital for getting gangareen cut out from her neck. Her husband was also a Christian. Before he was a Christian he used to torment the missionaries. Six months ago he received Christ. His wife received Christ two weeks ago. They seem like they have a stronger relationship with Christ than most Christians I know. Her Bible was open when we got there, she had verses posted on the walls, and from translations and what I picked up, it seemed like she had a rock solid God thing. While we were there, they were telling all of the Christians about a girl that had cancer in her ovaries and stomach. The doctor did the surgery to remove the cancer and found out it was Tuberculosis. When the girl(I am guessing eighteen years old) started to have an expanded stomach she thought she was pregnant.
Well, the tuberculosis had been spreading since October and they found out she wasn't pregnant. So she has actually known it was a disease for a long time. She died from tuberculosis because of malnutrition a half hour ago. It was also such an extended case of T.B. that I donít know what to think. They said she was real thin except her huge stomach. I thought the Lord was going to use this for His glory. Her father was a witch doctor and was blaming her receiving Christ and being Baptized on this curse. In a way I guess this has glory given to God because she can be in eternity with God.
