172nd LRS (Airborne)

As part of the Rhode Island Nationa Guard, this unit hosts the National Guard Leapfest every year. The Leapfest is a parachute competition involving teams from all over the world. The teams come from the National Guard, Reserves, and Active Duty.

Part of the Iowa National Guard's 34th Division, nicknamed the "RED BULL" Division. You can see what appears to be a red bull skull in the middle of the patch. This unit participated in the 1999 Bataan Death March at White Sands Missle Range. For the heavy divison the Bataan consists of a 25 mile force march with a 35 pound ruck sack.

Part of the Alaska National Guard. This unit does a good bit of cold weather training throughout the year.
