TYR

Phoenician Tyr was queen of the seas, an island city of unprecedented splendor. Founded at the start of the third millennium BC, the city didn't experience its golden age until the first millennium BC. Tyr and the whole ancient Syria fell under Roman rule in 64 BC who built many monuments in the city, as we see here the columned porticoes that bordered the streets.
