The Lebanese mountains are part from a mountain range extending along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea from southern Lebanon into southern Syria. The highest peak in the range, Qurnat as-Sawda', is 3,083 m (10,115 ft) above sea level. In ancient times, the rocky slopes were covered with the famed cedars of Lebanon. These mountains include many skiing tracks (faraya,laklouk) that make big attraction to the athletes and amateurs from Lebanon and many arab countries in the Middle East.
