A Terrible Cake

Kids' minds are not always capable of figuring things out rationally, especially for a 4 year old girl. Can you imagine how a four-year-old girl would react when she got into problem? Energetic, curious, and voracious, that's how I was in my childhood. Those entire characteristic led incredible things to happen to me in my childhood. This event impressed me so much, even though it happened about ten years ago. I will never forget this experience.

This was the first time my mother came back from United States after she had immigrated to United States. She brought so many delicious foods from America for us. I was so excited, not just for my mother's returning but for all those delicious foods that I've never seen before.

One day, my mother went to visit her friend, aunt Yang. They hadn't seen each other for 5 years. Actually, I hadn't seen my parents since when I was a baby. My mother left me, she asked my grandmother to take care of me. However, after a whole day's busy work, my grandmother felt tired. Then she fell asleep. I just played with my doll and toys. Later on, I was really hungry. I tried to wake up my grandmother, but it didn't work. I even heard ugly sounds came from my stomach and told me it is time for a meal.

I was running around the house and looking for my meal. When I entered the restroom, I saw a rectangle shaped object on the top of the sink. "That looks like a cake that my mother had made for me before. I better eat it before someone sees me", I said to myself. The sink is taller than I am. I couldn't reach it anyway. So I stood on the chair, I tried to get it. Unfortunately, I fell. The second time I got the object.

I couldn't wait to eat it. Without thinking, I just grabbed it and put the whole piece into my mouth. When I put it into my mouth, it tasted delicious. Meanwhile I felt that my tears were coming out of my eyes and I was choking also. Not only that, when every time I choked, I saw that soap bubbles were all over in the air. This situation got worse but I still didn't know what was going on. I felt my throat was hurt. I screamed "Mom, Mom", suddenly my grandmother came, she was so surprised. And she immediately sent me to the nearby hospital.

In the hospital, the doctor used some special medical tools to clean my mouth. I felt hurt. Meanwhile, I recognized that it was not a "cake", but was soap. My mother and I were so scared.

I don't know what to say and how to react, should I laugh or should I cry. All I can said is every one has a different childhood, some particular experiences will stay in people's minds forever.
