Helsinki
Helsinki is the home of icebreaker ship manufacture,
Nokia cell phones (which everyone seems to have),
Jan Sibelius, and the center of government of Finland.
It was a change from Russia, because the central church is Lutheran.
This church had an excellent organ, a statue of Melancthon, and a statue of Luther.
It dominates the Helsinki skyline, but it's not the only Lutheran church we toured.
We enjoyed having lunch in the marketplace at the edge of the harbor
(not set up at the time this picture was taken).  We had some wonderful berry crepes.
Before we were finished, they started putting things away
and taking down the stands so that a power street cleaner could come in
and clean the entire market square.
