unrestored building from Soviet era
Across from the MacDonald's where we had lunch, this is an unrestored Soviet building.
Unfortunately, I'm not kidding about the MacDonald's.
When you're on a frantic schedule and the bus is leaving, you eat where you can,
and that's sometimes MacDonald's.  Besides, it's pretty important to go to places
where you know there will be restrooms.  Sometimes we spent a long time
looking around for restrooms, and you have to be able to recognize
the appropriate words, or you can be very embarrassed.
And you always have to pay something.
In Russia it was usually just 50 kopecks (half a ruble, or about 1/54th of a dollar).
Anyway, back to the unrestored building.  Notice the Soviet symbols near the top.
Eventually these too, or perhaps the whole building, will be removed.
