1. What's the best way to arrive in Barbados from Latin American cities ?

The gateways to and from Latin America are through Caracas, Venezuela and Miami, USA.

There are daily flights to Barbados from both Miami and Caracas but it may be a bit cheaper to travel via Caracas during the summer months (June - September).

3. What is a home stay and how does it work ?

A home stay program places the student in the care of a local Barbadian. The student becomes part of that family for the period of the program. The adopted 'parents' are responsible for your welfare and this includes: providing meals, transfers to and from the airport and ensuring that you attend your classes and program activities on a daily basis.

However, your 'family' is not responsible for your personal finances. The fees you pay towards your home stay only cover your meals and lodging. Anything else outside of this is purely at the 'family's' discretion.

The 'family' also has the right to discipline the student if s/he is unruly and disorderly within the family compound.

4. Will the activities affect my study program ?

No. The activities are an integral part of our programs. They are designed to balance your classroom activity and complete the total language immersion that is recommended on this type of program.

The planned activities include: sports, island tours, safari tours, submarine tours, cultural tours to local museums and other places of interest and night clubs for older students. This is an excellent opportunity to practice your English and socialize with locals.

5. Are the programs taught exclusively in English ?

Yes. Our method is one of total immersion. However, our tutors are highly trained and most of them could explain a problem in either Spanish, French or Portuguese; though this is not encouraged.

6. When is the best time to arrive in Barbados ?

The programs are designed to start on the first Monday on each month from June to September in order to accommodate the differing holiday schedules of our students.

You are therefore strongly advised to make your plans around the beginning of each month during the summer period. in addition, it makes perfect sense to arrive one or two days before the start of your program.
