![]() Standing at 1,454 ft (443 m) and 102 stories high, the Empire State Building was the tallest in the world for over 40 years. Designed by William Lamb and completed in 1931, it has attracted over 100 million visitors. The Empire State Building has been seen in many movies, but perhaps its most famous appearance was in King Kong, to fight with army aircraft. The building was however, hit by a real bomber flying too low in the fog.
This skyscraper has observation decks on the 86th floor and on the 102th. From these, you are offered a beautiful view of the city. The 102th floor observatory is usually closed however.
