My Tasting Philosophy
When I smoke a cigar, the most important thing to me is the sensation of the smoke as it fills my mouth. I want a cool, smooth smoke. I don't like bite or harshness. The second thing I look for is flavor, things like spicy, sweet, grassy, bitter, describe the flavor. Finally, how strong is it? Do the flavors overpower the mouth? Are they subtle and soft, like "an angel crying on my tongue?" I will use this philosophy as I review cigars each week, and as my tastes grow and change, I may update this page. Remember, before you flame me for tearing up your favorite smoke, all of our tastes are different, and things like aging, storage, and smoking patterns, and even random chance (cigars are handmade, remember, and there can be wide variations across some brands) all can affect the way a cigar smokes. You may take your favorite smoke out of my humidor and hate it, or I could take a smoke I hated out of your humidor and love it.
If you would like to offer your views on any of the cigars I sampled, I will try to post your opinions along with my review.
