Water was required for many aspects of construction so
installing the tank was one of the first jobs completed. We half filled it from the on-site dam.
The footings were separated from the
slab floor to reduce the amount of concrete used, and break up this part of the
construction into smaller, more manageable chunks
Preparations
for the slab were regularly interrupted by rain
Power and plumbing services have
to be carefully thought out, and installed prior to the concrete slab being
constructed

Mudbricks drying. In summer they were kept under cover to prevent them drying too quickly and cracking.

After about 1 week of drying the mudbricks are moved close to where they will be laid into the wall, and under roof cover

Part of the roof was made using ready-made trusses.

Part of the roof was constructed using hardwood beams

The roof provided cover for the mudbrick and rock walls as they were being constructed
