#1 Bruce's e-mail list - 12/4 (Seattle)

I've got a pine box in the car which has inside dimensions of 17"x17"x37", a new Raleigh 27-speed touring bike, and a passport. These items represent what will control my life for the next 13 months. For the many who aren't aware, I'm rider #7 on Odyssey2000, a year long 20,000 mile 45 country bicycle ride all over the world along with 242 other cyclists. We start the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena at 8:02am (after two minutes of commercials) January 1, 2000.

Prior to that, I will be driving down to Southern California starting this Monday. I hope to get in three good weeks of training for my legs, butt and brain.

This e-mail list is being sent through my brother Charlie because: my Pocketmail e-mail computer can send only four messages at a time and can't send bcc (blind copy which hides each person's e-mail address). If you don't want to receive periodic updates on my travels or need to change your e-mail address, write to Charlie at [email protected] and/or myself at [email protected].

Because my e-mail computer has limited memory and doesn't download very rapidly, PLEASE don't "forward" my entire message back to me when you respond. Also, Pocketmail will not accept attachments. I look forward to your e-mail "postcards" to keep me updated with what's happening in your life. Since I will have to make a toll call to the U.S. to download mail, PLEASE don't forward any "cute" or "funny" e-mail that was fun when I had a home computer.

My "regular" address will be at my brother's. When I get updates of mail stops, I will include them for anyone who wants to send "normal" mail. In the meantime...

Happy Trails,
Bruce
