ELEPHANT CAMP   page 3

We got to interact with these four orphaned elephants. Not only riding them and walking with them, but just being able to feed them and brush them was a experience.  I have a hard time knowing from this picture who is enjoying this brushing more; Elyse or the elephant?

Myah and Nancy, the elephant riders.

We got into a long discussion about elephant flatulence. Do you know that even the great Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote about elephant flatulence and it's impact upon humanity.  Here Elyse is showing the impact of elephant flatulence upon her.

It's the group watering hole. Elephants watering is an amazing thing. Each slurp with the trunk can hold about 8 liters of water. And we were told that an average elephant in the wild will drink upwards of 225 liters of water per day.

The great dismount.  What a chore for these elephants to get down.  It felt like a sudden drop of an elevator.

She said she was an elephant in a past life.
