Sakyamuni
Sakyamuni is a name given to the Buddha, meaning wise man of the Sakya
people, amongst whom he was born. This is one of the largest and most
lavish bronzes of its kind. The Buddha is seated on a double lotus
throne.

The Emperor Augustus (27 BC - AD 14)
Roman sardonyx cameo: Augutus wearing the aegis,
a goatskin breastplate modelled on that worn by Athena,
which was considered to have divine power.
The gold diadem was added in the Middle Ages
and restored in the eighteenth century.
